Safe Exchange Zones are a Good Idea

Many municipalities and police stations have been setting up safe exchange zones for completing Internet purchases.  Whenever a face to face meeting is necessary, you should use one of these zones as there is no way of knowing who is on the other end of a computer generated transaction.  Being in an area that is video monitored and/or has police in the vicinity can help protect you from theft and/or violence.  These same safe exchange zones can also be very useful when dealing with joint custody of a child.  When the parents or guardians do not get along, having a neutral location to drop off and pick up a minor is clearly in the child’s best interest.
